Did you miss me?!
Hi guys!Long story. I never intended to take a break from dA. A vicious string of unfortunate events (although insignificant to the absolute terror to which some on this planet we call home are subjected) had befallen, and I was not able to get on dA.
Skip down to
"My awesome proposal/project for you", if you don't care to read my reason for absence.
Why I was gone
During the summer, I was in Texas, and because we were visiting family all over the state, I didn't have time for dA. When we got back to my dad's house, we discovered his internet connection, for some reason, would not work with my computer.

Meanwhile, the months passed, and school started. Self-explanatory.
In November of 2009, my family and I went on a trip to Mackinac (pronounced like Mackinaw, the city right across the water from it) Island in Michigan. I, naturally, brought my computer. We had fun while we were there, and we met up with some family whom I'd never before met. Anyway, on the way home, wanting to sleep, I put my laptop on the middle seat in the car, fearing I'd drop it, and it would break (even more, it was already cracked; it would not close all the way).
Little did I know that, during that time,
my sister put her pillow on it, laid her head down, and went to sleep.
My sister literally split my laptop in half with her head!I was crushed. Yes, I could use my mom's computer (running Vista, yuck), but, not wanting to impose, I mainly used it when it pertained to school assignments. So, for the past six months or so, my main portal to the internet has been
my cell phone. Obviously, one cannot effectively and in a time-efficient manner be going on dA often, nor submitting deviations.

However, that all changed recently when Apple finally updated their notebook line to the Core i5/i7 processors, and I bought a really nice
MacBook Pro!Finally I'll be able to get back on dA again! Sadly, my Photoshop license is Windows-only, and since I don't have the proof of purchase (it was a gift), I can't get it switched over to a Mac license; unfortunately, I am resigned to using GIMP for photo editing.
And I love love love Photoshop. My awesome proposal/project for you
As some of you may know, I'm a member of
Postcrossing where, put simply, one can send postcards all over the world and receive some, from different people, in return.
I've gotten some pretty cool ones, like the
postcard from Iran!Anyway, Postcrossing only lets you send a certain number of postcards; then, you can't send any more until the postcards you've sent have been received and registered by the recipients, or until they expire. I'm at my current limit, as I sent my large chunk all in one day. They should arrive in a few days, but I don't want to wait that long before sending more postcards.
My question is:
Would you like to receive a postcard from me?

It doesn't matter where in the world you are, as I have nine 98¢ stamps left, which is enough postage for nine postcards to go to any country in the world. But that doesn't mean you have to live outside the US; I'll send you a postcard if you're in the States, too.
If you would like a postcard, send me a note:
with your full mailing address (format it as you would if you were mailing a letter in your own country) Don't worry, I won't tell anyone where you live.

indicating whether you'd want me to write in

or <img src="
[link]" width="200" height="50" />
If you do not state a preference, I will write in cursive.

if there's something specific you'd like me to write about; I'll write about other things, of course, but I'll try include what you want.
The images on the postcards I have to send are:
1. The Great Wave off Kanagawa (神奈川沖浪裏 Kanagawa Oki Nami Ura)
2. A fudge/candy store in Mackinaw City, Michigan
3. Five views of Mackinac Island
4. Another view of Mackinac Island
5. International airport luggage tags
6. President Barack Obama
7. President Barack Obama
8. Stuffed animals hanging on a clothes line
9. A globe
Postcards will be delivered on a first-come, first-serve basis (as my primary purpose for these was for Postcrossing). You may tell me which one you'd prefer me to send you, but, if it's already been mailed to someone else, obviously, I cannot mail it to you. Once all nine are sent, I'll let you know. I plan to get more postcards eventually for Postcrossing, of course, and depending on the success of this little experiment, I'll do this again.
Thanks, guys!
The Bread Art Project
The
Bread Art Project was brought to my attention by one of my teachers. For every slice of virtual bread/toast designed and submitted to the site, the company will donate $1 to
Share our Strength, a foundation dedicated to ending child hunger in America.
Final thoughts
I will be deleting everything in my message center today; I simply cannot keep up with it right now. Over 10,000 deviations and 5,400 other messages have accumulated in my absence.
I will skim through some things before I delete them, so, in advance, I'm sorry if you've tried to contact me, please send the messages you wanted me to read again. A big thank you to those who've

ed my work while I wasn't here.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone reading this!Send in those addresses, so I can get those postcards out! Look for a deviation from me sometime in the near future.
Again,
Thank you so much!
